Receiving an award

Walking up to receive your award, shaking hands and smiling and saying thank you.

Smiling with our certificate held in front
Looking and feeling proud of our certificate

Whakapono 20 enjoyed going through the steps of the PB4L initiative, as this has helped us be better role models for our Rowandale School. We hope you enjoy and have your classes do what we did too, so you too can be great Role models to your peers.

Thank you for viewing our blog, please leave a comment.

WEEK 3 WHAKAPONO 20

WHAT IS SCIENCE?

We were very lucky to have the opportunity to visit the Science Roadshow. This show was set at Greenmeadows Intermediate. We travelled by bus with our ILE team and participated in a great show.
Children had a great chance to see how things worked.

Lots of interaction for the children. Children had a blast reading up on information to get into the draw to win a prize.
Thanks Science Roadshow.

WHAKAPONO 20 TERM 2 Week 1

Kia ora Talofa lava Malo e lelei Fakalofalahi atu
Welcome back to another great term of learning.
This week has been a very successful and full of learning week.
We have been studying 'States of Matter' using our SOLO TAXONOMY to help us think critically and to extend our thinking to the beyond....

We have learnt in this first week about 'Particles'.. particles that are stuck together, particles that are close to each other, and particles that are a part from each other but in the same area of space.
These particles are 'SOLID' 'LIQUID' 'GAS'...

We have learnt that from our SOLO TAXONOMY it places us with our own ideas and extending those ideas to make us extend our thinking and knowledge.

We can't wait to show our learning to our families.
Please feel free to come and visit our ILE hub to see our learning and for us to share what we have learnt and can explain.

This SOLO organiser shows if we are 'RELATIONAL' thinkers.. using the one idea of a 'SOLID' and adding more ideas to show that 'I' can explain how a solid can turn into something.. from concrete or chocolate or ice...
Here we have our Particles of a SOLID, LIQUID & GAS.. We were able to move to RELATIONAL as our success criteria showed we could explain what the particles stated they were and which belonged with which.
Please leave a comment and come visit our hub.
